Bluff Bluffs are a series of object paintings exploring abstract landscapes. Taking influence from the essay “The Realm of Art” in the book “Art and Experience” this series was born from a lack of true nature within NYC and the beauty of the manufactured ones experienced at indoor climbing gyms. The obtuse shapes of the canvases are a deliberate attempt to make people experience the pieces as objects rather paintings sitting on a wall. Partners & Others built upon these ideas to design the publication Bluff Bluffs. It incorporated photos, mixed-media  and empherma collected throughout the creation of the series. A single unique rock climbing hold was attached to each cover to transform each edition into an object unto itself.
